Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is tomorrow. I just wanted to take this time to share how thankful I am for all that has been blessed upon me. It's good we have this day to take a moment from our busy lives to give thanks ( something I should do daily). I have so many things to be thankful for. I am so fortunate to have a profession that I have such a passion for. I truly love what I do, not too many can say that. I'm thankful for my wonderful husband who has supported my passion for these many years. I'm am thankful for my beautiful grandchildren Elijah and Willow. They light up my life everytime I look at them. I don't know what I'd do without my daughter Breena. Besides giving me my beautiful grandchildren she shows me daily why I'm here on this earth. She gives me the strength I need to exist. She's definitely a powerful force that keeps me on my toes. She also keeps this studio running smoothly and believes in me. I'm thankful for my photographer friends. They have brought so much to my life. They remind me you must keep learning. I could go on and on... Lastly I'd like to thank all my faithful clients that have been with me from the beginning. You have made this journey worthwhile. I have loved getting to know your children and watching them grow. Thank God for the children. What a blessing God has given us. I am so fortunate to capture a moment of their lives. To think of them looking back on the images I created for them and remembering those times because of them, I am blessed. Thank you to all our clients. Without you we wouldn't exist. Thank you for allowing me to capture a moment in time. Happy Thanksgiving! dt

Elijah & Mimi's Excursion

What a day Elijah and I had. We took our cameras and went to Flushing Park to photograph. The weather was beautiful. I bought him a FisherPrice digital camera last Christmas. He has it mastered. It's amazing how kids catch on. We had so much fun. We didn't quit until the sun went down. He was so funny directing me "Mimi tip your head...untip just a little...think happy..." Every place we stopped to photograph, we drew a crowd. Kids are awesome. What a special day we had. One I know both of us will remember.

Willow & Elijah

Sorry this took so long. It's been extremely busy without Breena. Are my kids beautiful or what! Willow turned 3 weeks old Friday the 19th. Elijah is so proud and such a good big brother. Breena will be back soon (I hope). I'm about to loose my mind (what mind I had in the first place).

I just got news I'll be receiving my Master in Photography in Jan. at the National Professional Photographers of America Assoc. in Tampa. I'm pretty excited. I promise to post again soon.

It's a girl!!!!

Hello,

I'm proud to announce Breena & Rich had a beautiful baby girl yesterday (Friday, Sept. 28) at 11:42 am at Genesys. They named her Willow Rae. She is gorgeous. Momma and baby are doing great. She weighed 7 lbs 3 oz - 191/2 inches long. Breena's doctor, Dr. Chris Tykocki was a God send. Thanks to him Breena had a flawless delivery. We are so blessed. Life is good.

So Sorry ...

So sorry I haven't written in awhile, we are so busy right now. Breena's due anytime (at least within the next 2 weeks) and I am so not ready to run this place by myself. We'll see how that works. Hopefully she won't be out long. The baby will be here with us so stop in a check her out.

How about that tornado? We were so lucky the studio didn't get hit. We were in East Tawas photographing on the beach. I called everyone I could think of to see if the studio was still standing and no one was home. Finally my neighbor called with the good news. Oh and by the way it rained both days in Tawas but we were still able to photograph our families on the second day.

I wanted to post these images of a beautiful girl named Marissa. She put off getting a hair cut so that I could photograph her in this setting. I plan on painting one of these images, I haven't decided which yet. We're thinking of making this background our Fairy/Renaissance Special this coming February. Call us for details. Let us know what you think.

2007 Beach Excursion

Check out Elijah and his pop walking on the beach at Lake Michigan. We had a great time again this year. The weather was perfect except for the three water spouts that came on land right in front of the beach house, of course. We along with the Kozlowski family (who were waiting to be photographed) witnessed this first hand. We thought we were in the middle of a tornato. Everything went flying. We were on the beach photographing a half hour later. Another year of dodging the weather. It's been 19 years and I haven't been rained out yet (knock on wood). If you're interested in being photographed on the beach next year call us and sign up early. These sessions are really popular and book up fast.

For the Mothers to be ...

We finally got to Breena's maternity portrait. It's been pretty busy at the studio. We all know how time flies. I'm so glad Maternity portraits have become the rage. It's about time. I hope all who see this image will seriously think about booking this session. It's an important memory. Isn't she beautiful.
Her due date is October 2nd. It's a girl! I'm so excited.

Welcome Brooke Lynn

We have a new addition to our family. My nephew Richard & Tina had a beautiful baby
girl Tuesday, June 5. I can not wait for Breena's girl. Nothing like a baby. I captured this image at Genesys the day after she was born and am looking forward to capturing more.

It's a Girl

Guess what, guess what. It's a girl! Breena just found out. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. Our baby girl will be here around the first of October. Elijah wanted a brother of course but he's getting use to the idea of a sister. Breena's finally feeling like a human. No more morning sickness. The next step is maternity portraits.

Spring 2007

The weekend of April 14th we (meaning Breena & I ) attended the Professional Photographers of Michigan Convention at the Dearborn Inn in Dearborn. I entered six images in the print competition and won Top Seven Photographers in the state of Michigan. Breena has posted 2 of the top scoring prints.

We started on the landscaping here at the studio. We've decided to add to the wildflower patch and open it to the lake which will give us even more areas to photograph. It's going to be beautiful. The boys treehouse is in the process of being designed. I'm still looking for that wooden row boat...

If you're thinking of getting your family portrait taken this year, we have a couple sessions left for the Beach Excursion. We have a private beach in Whitehall (it's north of Muskegeon). These sessions are so much fun. The kids love it and it forces you to take a mini vacation. This year's excursion is planned for July 8-14th. Don't wait to book, we only have a couple left. Call today. (810) 750-9597.

Spring & Summer sessions are booking. Call before we get too busy with Senior Portrats.

We're Blogging Now

Hello out there ...

Wow, what a cool concept this Blogging thing is. Who'd thought... Wonder what tomorrow will bring, cars that fly???

Hopefully some of you have heard of our studio. I'm so fortunate to have a job I love. I use to work in the shop (many moons ago), doing the same thing over and over again. Hated it! Some love it but it wasn't for me. Photography is my passion. I'm so glad I didn't stop looking until I found it. I'm married to an awesome musician (37+ years). The best thing that happened to me besides marring him and giving birth to my beautiful daughter is photography. Every day is different. I meet and get to photograph some of the most wonderful children.

We're coming into our busy time. Landscaping needs to be done. We're in the process of designing our outdoor project for this year. I've decided to build a treehouse for the boys. We hope to have it completed by early June. I'm looking for an old wooden row boat if anyone out there knows of one. Our studio is on a small fishing lake, the boat would make a great prop.

Please check out our website at www.citaportraits.com and let us know what you think.

Bye for now.

Debbie
