I will be speaking for the Open Gate Garden Club on photographing flowers Jan. 17th at St Johns Church in Fenton. I am so happy they called on me for this opportunity to inspire. My passion is photography of all sorts. It has been so much fun going through my archives searching for images for my slide show. I'll post how it went next week.

Okay, I know. I said weddings are not my thing and here I am, in Madison Wisconsin getting prepared to photograph a wedding tomorrow. Yes you heard me right. I know... Funny thing...I'm geeked. I'm really looking forward to capturing memories for the bride and groom and their friends and families. Well, need my rest. Going to be a long day tomorrow. By the way. Chicago was bumper to bumper traffic. I thought I'd run out of gas before I found a gas station. Note to self to find a different way home. Check back for wedding updates.

Location Wedding Coming up ..... It's been awhile since I have photographed a wedding. I quit taking on weddings because of the stress, Breena worked hard at convincing me to go for it. Weddings make for a long day and a whole lot of work, camera and computer. When approached with this location outdoor wedding taking place in Maddison Wisconsin I thought "why not". Breens'a coming to assist. We're excited about the road trip. We decided to drive because of the equipment I plan on taking. According to the bride to be's mother it's going to be a long one, 8 hours. We leave Friday and return Sunday. I will be posting about our drive and the wedding. I've got all these visions of images I want to capture. If I end up enjoying this, I will be taking on more. Keep checking the blog for updates.

Computer malfunction

Okay so guess what happened. Last Friday my computers motherboard decided to check out. Yes, I said "CHECK OUT"! I immediately started sweating when I discovered that my display was blank and wouldn't get unblanked. I mean to tell you I was freaking out cuz even though I preach to all of you about backing up and using an external drive, some of my stuff wasn't. I had a panic attack. When I got myself back together, I called a few computer experts and decided I had to fix this, with their help of course. My brother in law Marco saved the day. He knows Macs in and out. I took him my computer and he was able to get everything off the hard drive. I didn't loose anything. I did, though, loose my precious computer that I truly loved. It would have cost too much to put in a new motherboard, so I ended up buying another MacBook Pro. I'm up and running, thanks to Marco, and have learned an important lesson. BACK UP!!!! ALWAYS!!!

Busy Photographing

Looking forward to photographing a Maternity session in the next few minutes. I love these sessions. I wish I would have thought about this when I was pregnant. Women have that glow when they're pregnant that the camera loves. Such an important memory to capture. I'll be posting some images soon. d

Willow came to work today

I just finished some new dress designs and accessories to match. I forgot how much I love sewing and designing childrens clothing. What a perfect day for Willow to come to work. She graciously agreed to model Mimi's new stuff. I can't wait to photograph these new designs on the beach this July. Comment please and let me know what you think. d

Spring is coming

I can't wait to get outside and photograph. It's been a long winter even though we haven't suffered with the cold and snow we normally get. For some reason I just can't convince anyone to be photographed in the snow, not sure why. We all live in Michigan after all, maybe next year. Bring on the warm weather. I'm so ready. Right now I've got to decide what landscaping project to tackle for spring and summer. Anybody got any ideas? Comment and share please. This Spring the outside of the studio gets painted. I've put it off long enough. My dear husband will be the laborer. He's not only the best singer-drummer around, he's also a meticulous painter. The lobby's going to go through a makeover soon also. I think I'm going to keep the green just add more purple. Looking for different furnishings, not having much luck but will keep trying.
